Prime Day 2026 Is Coming June 23: Here's How to Prepare Your Store Right Now
Prime Day 2026 is almost here. Use the next few weeks wisely to optimize inventory, pricing, advertising, and listings before the biggest sales event of the summer.
Prime Day 2026 is almost here. With just weeks remaining, every action you take now directly impacts how much revenue your brand generates when the event begins. Here is your complete preparation guide.
1. Lock In Your Inventory Now
The biggest Prime Day mistake is running out of stock mid-event. Review your top-performing ASINs and calculate demand forecasts based on historical Prime Day velocity plus expected growth. Submit FBA replenishment shipments immediately — Amazon's inbound processing can take 1–2 weeks, and you need buffer stock in place before June 23. Set conservative stockout alerts so you can pause advertising on depleted listings and avoid wasting budget.
2. Refresh Your Listing Content
Prime Day drives massive traffic spikes — but only converts if your listings are optimized. Before the event, audit every hero ASIN for: keyword-optimized titles with high-volume search terms, benefit-led bullet points (not just feature lists), A+ Content and Brand Story in place, and clear, high-resolution primary images. Listings that were "good enough" in Q1 may underperform when competing against Prime Day traffic levels.
3. Submit and Confirm All Deals
If you planned Lightning Deals or Best Deals, confirm they are approved and scheduled. Check your Promotions dashboard for any rejected or pending submissions. Even if formal deals are not in place, consider running coupons on your top ASINs — the orange coupon badge increases click-through rates significantly and costs nothing until redeemed.
4. Build Your Prime Day Ad Strategy
Prime Day advertising requires a specific approach: increase your daily budgets significantly (traffic volume will exhaust normal budgets within hours), raise bids on your highest-converting keywords and ASINs, set up Sponsored Brands video campaigns for maximum visibility, build defensive campaigns to protect your brand from competitor conquesting, and activate Sponsored Display retargeting to re-engage visitors who don't convert immediately.
5. Protect Your Pricing Strategy
Amazon's algorithm monitors pricing across channels. If your Prime Day price appears higher than your Shopify or other channel prices, you risk losing the Buy Box or having deals suppressed. Coordinate your pricing strategy across all channels before the event begins and confirm your deals meet Amazon's minimum discount thresholds.
6. Prepare Your Customer Service Team
Prime Day order volume can increase 3–5x for many brands. Brief your customer service team on expected volume, common order questions, and escalation procedures. Set up auto-responders for common inquiries and ensure your return and refund policies are clearly visible on all listings.
7. Plan for International Prime Day Timing
If you sell in multiple Amazon regions, Prime Day timing varies. Coordinate your inventory, advertising, and promotional strategies across regions to avoid resource conflicts and ensure you capture demand in every market where you have presence.
8. Build a Post-Prime Day Follow-Up Plan
The work does not stop when Prime Day ends. Prepare follow-up strategies now, including retargeting campaigns, inventory replenishment plans, performance analysis, customer retention initiatives, and marketplace expansion opportunities. Using a Global Ecommerce Accelerator strategy allows brands to turn Prime Day momentum into sustainable growth throughout the rest of the year. The sellers who continue engaging customers after the event often see stronger results long after the discounts disappear.
